DATUM VEGA Digital Infrastructure for Space

Spacecraft structures. Rigorous analysis. Confident qualification.

The emerging space economy demands greater speed, while complex hardware still requires uncompromising discipline. Datum Vega was founded to bring those priorities together—combining the meticulous, by-the-book rigor of legacy space programs with the agility needed for this new era of space.

About Us

Datum Vega combines senior aerospace engineering experience with a long-term vision for Digital Infrastructure for Space: preserving engineering knowledge, connecting technical work, and strengthening continuity across complex programs.

What We Bring

Our team brings senior engineering experience from Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and Airbus U.S. Space & Defense. Our expertise spans satellite systems, human spaceflight, structural dynamics, fatigue and fracture mechanics, qualification engineering, and engineering automation.

How We Work

We believe rigorous engineering does not have to rely on fragmented data, repetitive manual processes, or individual memory. Our approach combines established aerospace engineering methods with structured workflows, traceability, and practical automation to improve engineering efficiency while preserving technical judgment and accountability.

What We Are Building

Our consulting work informs a broader effort to improve how structural engineering is executed, documented, and carried forward across complex space programs. Through the Chronos initiative, Datum Vega is developing tools and engineering infrastructure to strengthen continuity, reproducibility, and traceability from analysis through qualification.

Our Capabilities

Datum Vega focuses on spacecraft structural analysis and qualification, supporting the engineering activities that connect requirements, analysis, verification, testing, and qualified flight hardware.

Structural Analysis & Qualification

Analyses for spacecraft structures, including finite element modeling, structural dynamics, static structural analysis, random vibration, shock, fatigue and fracture mechanics, structural optimization, margin-of-safety assessment, and spacecraft qualification support.

Our team has extensive professional experience with industry-standard structural analysis, pre- and post-processing, fracture mechanics, and vibro-acoustic engineering tools, including Nastran, Femap, Patran, Simcenter 3D, HyperMesh/HyperWorks, NASGRO, Ansys, Abaqus, VA One, Python, C++, and Fortran.

Requirements, Verification & Test Support

Translation of mission, system, and program requirements into actionable engineering analyses, verification plans, qualification activities, and structured technical deliverables. Our experience includes requirements derivation and traceability, qualification planning, test definition and supervision, analysis-to-test correlation, environmental testing, verification and validation, and flight-readiness support.

We have extensive familiarity with NASA and ESA structural and qualification standards, requirements, handbooks, specifications, and engineering practices supporting both satellite and human-rated space programs. Our test experience includes static load testing, sine and random vibration testing, acoustic testing, test planning, model correlation, test support, and qualification reporting.

Engineering Software & Workflow Automation

Engineering software and workflow development focused on reducing errors and inconsistencies, improving traceability, increasing engineering productivity, and supporting reproducible engineering execution. Our work includes specialized engineering tools, workflow automation, data consistency and traceability, version-controlled engineering environments, preservation of technical rationale, qualification evidence management, and AI-assisted workflows that preserve engineering authority.

Chronos Logo The Chronos Initiative

Chronos is Datum Vega’s digital engineering platform designed to connect, execute, and preserve complex technical workflows. By bridging data, tools, and teams within a unified environment, Chronos strengthens engineering continuity and traceability from analysis through qualification.

Connected Engineering Icon

Connected Engineering

Connect engineering data, analyses, decisions, and workflows while preserving the technical context and rationale behind them. Keep engineering knowledge understandable and usable across teams, revisions, and future programs.

Traceability Icon

Traceability

Maintain clear relationships between engineering inputs, analyses, revisions, results, and verification evidence. Provide end-to-end traceability and version control across the engineering workflow instead of leaving critical information scattered across disconnected tools.

Automation Icon

Automation

Reduce repetitive manual work in analysis management, reporting, documentation, and quality checks. Improve consistency and reproducibility while giving engineers more time to focus on technical work that requires judgment.

Human Authority Icon

Human Authority

Use automation to support engineering judgment—never replace it. Keep engineers firmly responsible for technical decisions while providing stronger context, clearer evidence, and more efficient tools to execute their work.
